Rural Infant Services Program
Each child is like a butterfly in the wind.
Some fly higher than others,
But each one does the best it can.
Why compare it to the others? Each one is different;
Each one is special;
Each one is beautiful.
Early help can make a difference, and can help each child reach his or her full potential...and a brighter future
The Rural Infant Services Program (RISP) provides support for children from birth to three years of age who may have developmental delays. Much of a child's future takes shape in the first years of life. This is a unique "window of opportunity" and is a time of discovery and a time to learn the basic skills that will last a lifetime. But not all children grow and learn at the same pace. Some children need extra help to learn new skills or other ways to master basic skills.
Benefits of the Program
Early intervention services for infants and toddlers have proven to be a very worthy investment in the future, with considerable long-term benefits. Longitudinal studies of early intervention programs have documented the long lasting effects and cost benefits of early intervention, which stretch from preschool to adulthood.
At RISP, challenges are opportunities - for growth, for learning, and for identifying the very special strengths in all of us.
